Details Itinerary

Day 1: Airport Pick-Up- Arusha Coffee Lodge

Lights on Africa Safaris staff will pick you up from Kilimanjaro International Airport and take you to your accommodation at Arusha Coffee Lodge found at the foot of Mount Meru and hidden amongst one of Tanzania’s largest coffee plantations. You will stay in one of the plantation cottages with its unique architecture that dates back to the early 1900s. The interiors permeate of coffee beans-themed design and amenities include a bar and cozy lounge as well as a swimming pool and garden terrace.
In the morning you will wake up to the aromas of the morning brew coming from the main plantation as your breakfast is being prepared.

Day 2: Game Drive in Tarangire National Park:

After breakfast around 7:00 AM, you will be picked up by your driver/ tour guide who will take you to Tarangire National Park, 120km from Arusha. Tarangire is the sixth largest national park in Tanzania after Ruaha, Serengeti, Mikumi, Katavi and Mkomazi. Activities will include a wildlife game drive where you can see pythons climb trees, as well as lions and leopards among others. For bird lovers, keep an eye out for the screeching flocks of colorful yellow-collared lovebirds, and the somewhat drabber rufous-tailed weaver and ashy starling. These are all endemic to the dry savannah of north-central Tanzania.
Your dinner and overnight stay will be at your luxury camp inside the park.

Day 3: Full-game Drive in Tarangire National Park:

After breakfast, you will proceed to a game drive in Tarangire National Park. In this park, you will see large herds of elephants, lions and the fascinating baobab trees also called the Tree of Life for the almost mythical powers that some cultures attach to it. This park is especially known for the Tarangire River which flows all year round and is the only source of water for wild animals during dry seasons. In the evening, you will return to the camp for the campfire dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast, you will set off to Lake Manyara National Park for yet another exciting game drive. Lake Manyara National Park is a scenic lake that made Ernest Hemingway exclaim “the loveliest I had seen in Africa.” Manyara provides the perfect introduction to Tanzania’s birdlife. More than 400 species have been recorded, and if you are lucky, you can expect to see 100 of these in one day. Inland of the floodplain, a narrow belt of acacia woodland is the favored haunt of Manyara’s legendary tree-climbing lions and impressively tusked elephants. In the evening, you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Conservation Area

After breakfast, you will depart for a full-day game drive at the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This is an extensive highland area along the eastern arm of the Great Rift Valley, with the world-renowned Ngorongoro Crater as its focal point. It is not a national park in the strict sense of the word but was rather established to conserve wildlife and other natural resources. It exists to safeguard the interests of indigenous people as well as promote tourism. Thus, guests on safari have the unique experience of seeing Maasai herdsmen with their cattle among the tremendous variety of wildlife found in the area.

Day 6: Serengeti National Park (Central)

After breakfast, you will set off for Serengeti National Park with a picnic lunch, and a game drive en route via Olduvai Gorge, Tanzania’s oldest and most popular national park. A UNESCO World Heritage Site and recently proclaimed 7th Wonder of the World, Serengeti is famed for its annual migration where some six million hooves pound the open plains. Serengeti offers an exotic game-viewing experience in the whole of Africa giving you an up-close look at the animals you’ve only seen in National Geographic: great herds of buffalos, smaller groups of elephants and giraffes, and thousands of elands, topi, impalas and Grant’s gazelles.

Day 7: Serengeti National Park (Central)

Proceed with game viewing in the vast savannah plains of Serengeti upon your arrival, this park occupy the area of almost 15,000km square, it is habitat for millions of wildlife from large mammals to the small ones, you have a good chance to observe them in their natural habitat. In afternoon you will have your lunch at a picnic area then continue with game viewing. In evening drive to your camp in central Serengeti for an overnight.

Day 8: Serengeti National Park (Kogatende)

After breakfast, you will head north of Serengeti for a full-day game drive in the wilderness tracking the Great Migration trails. You will witness a million wildebeests, each one driven by the same ancient rhythm, fulfilling its instinctive role in the inescapable cycle of life: a frenzied three-week bout of territorial conquests and mating; survival of the fittest as 40km (25 miles) long columns plunge through crocodile-infested waters on the annual exodus north.

Day 9: Serengeti National Park (Kogatende)

Enjoy a full-day game drive in the great Serengeti National Park. This is a World Heritage Site teeming with wildlife: over millions of wildebeests, thousands of lions, thousand leopards, hundreds of cheetahs and more than 500 bird species inhabit an area close to 15,000 square kilometers in size. It’s the only place where you can witness millions of migrating wildebeest over the savannah plains, it’s the cradle of human life, and probably the closest to an untouched African wilderness you will ever get. Enjoy lunch in a picnic site then proceed with exploration of wildlife in their natural habitat of the great Serengeti. Late afternoon drive back to your camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 10: Serengeti to Kilimanjaro International Airport

Afternoon around 14:45PM you will take a flight to Kilimanjaro International Airport, and you will arrive around 17:30PM.

After breakfast you will have your last morning game drive at Serengeti North before transfer to Kogatende Airstrip to fly to Kilimanjaro International Airport. Explorethis area with a stunning kopjes, woodland, riverine vegetation, and open plains. You will enjoy your lunch at a picnic site then transfer to airstrip to take your flight.Once in Kilimanjaro International Airport you will connect your International flight back home.
