Day 1: Londorossi Gate (2,250 m) → Mti Mkubwa Camp (2,780 m)
- Morning drive from Moshi/Arusha to Londorossi Gate (approx. 3–4 hrs) for registration and permit formalities.
- Begin hiking through lush montane rainforest.
- Keep an eye out for black-and-white colobus monkeys.
- Hiking time: 3–4 hours
- Distance: ~6 km
- Elevation gain: +530 m
- Meals: Lunch, Dinner
- Overnight:Mti Mkubwa Camp
Day 2: Mti Mkubwa (2,780 m) → Shira 1 Camp (3,500 m)
- Continue climbing gently out of the rainforest.
- Enter heath and moorland zones with spectacular views of the Shira Plateau.
